This young startup was already very clear on its positioning but needed help bringing that positioning to life. The Co-Foundry were tasked with creating a professional brand identity that appeals to a scientific and tech audience, alongside communicating the studio’s high production values and creativity.
This balance between creative and high-tech comes across perfectly in the final branding, and I’ve already had a fantastic response from my clients.
Christy Nunns, Founder, Wavelength Studio
Our focus was on reviewing the science landscape rather than focusing too much on the brand’s video and photography competition. We encouraged the client to collaborate closely with us on mood boards and research so that we could co-create a brand that the founder, Christy could get behind and own.
The Co-Foundry team helped me to crystalise all those intangible thoughts and feelings that existed in my head, and get them down on paper before discussing visuals. Aside from providing a strong base for the brand identity, this was just a great exercise in general, and gave me some fantastic clarity about my own company.

The branding drew its inspiration from the mathemetical symbol for wavelength, the Greek letter lambda.
In reference to the wavelength of light, which is rooted in Christy’s background in physics, we employed a gradient moving from blue to red (with blue and red light situated at either end of the visible light spectrum).
In addition, the branding features diagonal lines that signify precision, clarity and accuracy. The use of bold primary colours and strong typography creates a striking and impactful look that reinforces Wavelength’s position as a reliable and professional visual content provider for science and deep-tech enterprises.
Finally, we employed grotesk typeface Matter, a sans serif with a subtle, warm touch and paired it with Matter Mono – a nod to the typography of programming code. Both typefaces were designed by the foundry Displaay Type.
“As a founder of a startup, I think your company is something that still feels really personal and close to you. It’s not a faceless corporate blob, but something you built from the ground up, and something you live and breathe every day. It’s so crucial that your brand identity is something you’re confident to stand behind.
Right from the start, the Co-Foundry understood this, and took great care in every detail – as though they were designing for themselves. I never once felt like this was “just another” design project for them. The whole process felt like a collaboration, and it really paid off.

As with all our brand identity projects we delivered comprehensive guidelines. We applied the branding to various touchpoints, including a pitch deck, social media templates and stationery.
