Containing introductory essays, an academic essay and some 40 images and captions, the catalogue’s design blends formality with a bold streak of playfulness. Reflecting the ‘artist takeover’ element of the exhibition and residency – doodles spill onto the title pages, mirroring their spread out of the galleries, onto the Holburne’s stairs and out into the city.
The work was executed in batches to meet the tight deadlines with all pre-existing text and photography completed first. For printing we worked with our preferred partner, Park Lane Press whose speed, waterless printing technology and certifications meant that the project met high eco and sustainability standards including using FSC certified paper, vegetable oil-based inks and 100% renewable energy.
It’s been a pleasure to work with Sue and the team at The Co-Foundry on this catalogue. Their ability to visualise and plan out this book before they even had all of the material, as well as their ability to turn things around so efficiently, has made working on this catalogue not only possible, but enjoyable as well.
